TRAVEL | dresden + hrensko

Roman and I decided to take a trip back in early September. Roman proposed a hiking up { Pravčická brána } in Czech Republic and {Sächsische Schweiz} in Germany, so we kind of planned our short holiday around those hikes. On the first day we stopped in Dresden to explore the city.

We arrived late in the afternoon so there wasn't much sunlight left in the day for us to explore. All I remember is that I made the terrible call of finding food after we go sightseeing even though I was starving so those first couple hours were kind of a blur. When we eventually went for dinner we found a { great little place } next to our hostel that served amazing pulled pork sandwiches.

We arrived in Hrensko on day two. The motobike ride was really short--only about an hour and a half--so we still had a lot of energy for hike number 1. Our first trail, Pravčická brána, was only supposed to be 14-16km. But due to our lack of knowledge one of the trails leading back to our village closed at 6pm (we arrived at 6:10pm) which led us take the longest detour ever back to our hotel.

There are a few android photos here from Roman's phone since I didn't want to lug my canon around during our climbs. And with what happened during day 1, I'm so glad that I didn't haha.

PERSONAL | lazy berlin days

Halfway through my school quarter and I'm thinking back on the lazy summer days in Berlin. These photos were taken during my friend, Stanley's first day in the city. We went to my favourite breakfast spot in Berlin in the morning and walked along the canals near Kottbusser Tor in the afternoon. Since we were in the neighbourhood, we stopped by Concierge Coffee for an afternoon boost before heading off to Mitte to meet with Gloria.

Unfortunately, these are almost all the photos that I took in Berlin for the rest of the summer. Despite lugging my canon all the way to Europe, I actually went and decided to stash it away during those two months and tried to learn to live in the moment a bit--instead of hiding behind a lens all the time.

PERSONAL | lyonxrach wedding

My lovely friend Rachel married her middle school sweetheart on October 1st in Singapore. I was so honoured to have been able to be apart of their wedding. Here are just a few snaps I took during the day.

TRAVEL | berlin botanischer garten

A few weeks ago, on a gorgeous sunny afternoon, Gloria and I took a small trip to Berlin's botanical garden. I came across some Ellsworth Kelly drawings on the internet a little before and couldn't shake the urge to draw plants, so I thought a botanical garden would be the best place for that, right?

After we walked around the green house we sat outside by the cafe, got some drinks and shared a carrot cake. Then that night Gloria made pasta. It was a pretty good day.

TRAVEL | gothenburg

Finally getting back to uploading photos from last year. I almost considered stopping these posts altogether since it doesn't seem to make sense to upload something from so long ago. But then I decided to just go along with it anyways. Maybe I'll write less since these memories aren't fresh in my head anymore but I'm still pretty happy with how the photos came out, so I'll write whatever I can remember.

To be honest I had never thought about visiting Gothenberg. But after meeting my good friend Linda in Hong Kong a few months prior to my trip, who also happens to be from Gothenberg, I thought I'd take a few days to visit her and the city on my way from Copenhagen to Stockholm. It was a good plan. But the ironic twist to the story is that Linda ended up securing a internship in Hong Kong the exact months I was abroad. By the time I found out, the tickets were already bought, and my booking at the hostel was secured so I ended up setting off to Gothenburg anyways haha.

I actually did very little while I was there. I remember it being rainy and very cold, so the weather kept me inside, and when I was out I mostly spent my time strolling around the city in the mornings and enjoying { fika } in the afternoons. It was the perfect break from the chaos of all the traveling.
