Ahhhhh! Such a cool store! I managed to get a couple shots before I put my camera away to look at the collections. I spent a little time upstairs reading a little about previous Margiela collections (conception, process, etc) and it really opened my eyes to how amazing this brand is. The sales clerks in the store were incredibly kind too--they answered all my questions very kindly even though there was a language barrier. I also didn't feel the need to rush through my browsing like I often have to in a lot of high fashion brand stores back at home. You know, like those times when you feel the silent judging eyes of the sales clerks boring into the back of your head because they can smell the poor on you? But it's decided, once I get a steady job I'll be saving up for this { baby }, but until then all I can do is drool admire at it from afar. I also got a look at their new converse x mmm collaboration. Very cool concept. I'm thinking a new DIY is in order.

ACCESSORIES | margiela x h&m key ring bracelet

I try my best not to splurge on clothes but sometimes there's that one item you can't say "no" to. I was browsing on ebay (digital flea market!!) the other night and came across a seller who was selling the sold out Margiela x H&M oversized key ring bracelet ($34). It's a little loud and more than a little avant-garde, but I love it! My current wardrobe is nothing more than basics anyways, so a little accessory that makes me look like I just recently escaped from a elaborate bank heist gone wrong is just the statement piece I need.

Anyways, I did eventually do a little research on the whole collection (Autumn/Winter 2012). Turns out the collection showcased some reissued pieces drawn from the older Margiela archives. The collaboration incorporated a lot of the boxy silhouettes and oversized garments for which the House is famous for. Full collection on { Vouge }

I'm so happy to own a little something from Marigela, even if it is just a collaboration piece. It's small, but definitely not subtle. It's perfect!

So inspired by Maison Martin Margiela's collection of invitations to their fashion shows. It's brilliant how they add a slight Margiela twist to mundane, every day objects. Some other favorites of mine includes the toy television, the flashlight keychain, and the telegram.

ACCESSORIES | untitled

My birthday present to myself finally arrived in the mail a couple days ago. It was a really tough decision to make since my lovely friends also gave me Chanel chance eau fraîche for my birthday. But untitled is everything chance isn't. While chance is girly, sweet, and sophisticated, untitled is more earthy and aggressive. The more I use it the more I love the scent (I even spray a little inside some of my favorite purses). Now I have perfumes to fit any occasion--looks like I'm all set for the next year or two!
