ILLUSTRATION | "mysteries"
“The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us — there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries.” - Carl Sagan

WIP | evolution of “you are asleep”
This concept has been stuck in my head for quite a while now but i was never able to translate the idea to paper until very recently. here’s an illustration of the progression to the final piece. i actually have about 10 other thumbnails to add to this but those were never scanned and are long lost.
First sketch was done way back in october. the concept was still super rough and i wasn’t able to get the pose or the style the way i wanted so i scrapped it for later. the sketch in the middle was when i revisited the concept earlier last week. i still couldn’t get the pose right so i finally caved and used a photo reference by looking up ‘fetal positions’ in google. i slapped on some base colors but still wasn’t content with the style/linework. i finally had sometime this past weekend to work on the final product. i really haven’t had time to sit down and work on my illustrations so it felt good to get back into the swing of things.
